Bitcoin Ubuntu is a grassroots Bitcoin community outreach programme based in Swellendam, South Africa. It aims to provide free, in-person education and onboarding resources to the local community.
Description
Bitcoin Ubuntu is a grassroots Bitcoin community outreach programme based in Swellendam, South Africa. Inspired by Bitcoin Beach and Bitcoin Ekasi in South Africa, the community has been established to provide free, in-person education and onboarding resources to the local community.
Ubuntu is a popular African philosophical term meaning “humanity”. It is sometimes translated as “I am because we are” or “I am because you are”.
The initiative is still in its early stages. Its goal is to collaborate with existing projects that share similar values, goals, and serve the local community. Currently, the project is looking for volunteers to participate. If you’re interested in getting involved, you can reach out to them on Twitter.
Bitcoin Ubuntu is not currently running any public fundraising drives. The community will not contact you on any platform with offers or requests for donations.
