Description
Fountain app is a podcast app that let listeners earn sats by listening to podcasts. Sats are added to your wallet balance when you earn them. Sats are the smallest units of bitcoin. One bitcoin has 100 million sats.
The app is available on iOS and Android and is powered by the Bitcoin Lightning Network.
Every minute that you spend consuming content, creating content, or watching ads, increases the value of the platform you’re using. Think about the ones you use every day. YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok – all of these platforms would lose their value without the time and attention that you give them, but none of them reward you for it. Fountain is different. Fountain is the only podcast app where both listeners and podcasters get rewarded for the value they bring to the platform.
How to earn bitcoin on Fountain
There are four main ways you can earn sats using Fountain app.
Listen to podcasts
Fountain will pay you for your first hour of daily podcast listening. The earning rate fluctuates on a daily basis and is completely random. The earnings meter at the top of the player will display your earnings.
Listen to promotions
Podcasters and advertisers will pay you for listening to their promoted content on Fountain. The promoter determines the earning rate. Every day, one promoted episode and one promoted clip will appear on the Home page.
Clips and comments
When other listeners like your clips or comments, you can get paid. The default number of likes can be set in the settings, and you can press the like button as many times as you want.
Referrals
When you refer a friend to Fountain, you will receive a small commission each time they support a podcast. You’ll earn 50% of their transaction fees for a year.
Fountain has partnered with Swan Bitcoin to give away a stack of Bitcoin Magazine issues to three Fountain listeners every Friday. All you need to do is share what you listened to, what you earned and what you learned on Twitter.
How Fountain app works
Fountain will only pay you for the first hour of daily podcast listening. You can still earn more by listening to promotions, or you can return the following day to earn more.
Fountain app wallet is a custodial wallet. If you want to withdraw funds to a non-custodial wallet, you will need a Bitcoin Lightning wallet such as Phoenix and Muun that lets you receive bitcoin over the Lightning Network.
Not your keys, not your coins. Fountain wallet is a custodial wallet, which means you don’t hold the keys to the wallet and your funds are held by Fountain on your behalf. Fortunately, you can withdraw funds from the Fountain wallet to your own noncustodial wallet.
To check your earning rate of the day, click on the earnings meter at the top of the player. Every day, your rate is assigned at random. Your playback speed influences the rate. For example, if your daily rate is 10 sats per minute, listening at 1x speed will earn you 10 sats. You will earn 5 Sats per minute if you increase your playback speed to 2x.
If your earning rate is less than one sat per minute, you will only be able to earn one sat. For example, if your daily rate is one sat per minute, and you double your playback speed, your rate will be 0.5 sats per minute. This means that for every minute you listen, you will have a 50% chance of earning 1 sat. If you triple your playback speed, your rate will be 0.3 sats per minute, with a 30% chance of earning 1 sat every minute.
If you skip ahead or back while listening, or if your device loses connection, your earnings will be affected, and you may not receive the full amount. If you are not earning, you will see a gray lightning bolt at the top of the player. Press it for more information.
Finally, as an open social podcasting app powered by Nostr, you can connect Nostr and explore the home feed to discover recommendations from listeners on Fountain and other apps directly in your feed.

Fountain App is one of the app to stack sats. If you are a good listener or love streaming, then you have no problem stacking sats here. I have earned a reasonable sats here while listening to educative podcast.

I have stacked a lot of sats by listening to some of my favorite podcasts. As a new sign-up, you get rewarded for every minute you listen, which is a great advantage. This is an excellent opportunity for podcasters and avid listeners to get rewarded for their time.
